LOUIS A. JOHNSON VA MEDICAL CENTER-CLARKSBURG, WV

This design/build project consists of the construction of the new three-level (plus a ground level) 87,000 square feet precast parking structure to provide 236 parking spaces at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV. The work includes installation of forty-four caissons, forming and placing hundreds of cubic yards of 4’ thick pile caps and grade beam foundations on top of caissons, cast-in-place concrete ramp walls, slab on grade, concrete washes, crossovers and topping slabs on the precast structure. Other work scope includes all caulking of precast and cast-in-place concrete, installation of expansion joints, traffic bearing membrane coating system, below-grade waterproofing, application of penetrating sealer and appropriate landscaping upon completion.

The project also included the installation of two holeless hydraulic elevators that service all four (4) levels of the parking garage. This project progressed according to schedule and budget and without incident. The project was completed with an excellent safety record and had zero safety incidents or accidents.
